17 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy, From Weighted Blankets to Levi’s

In this week’s roundup of the best deals, we’ve found Samsonite suitcases on sale, cult curl shampoo from Ouai for a mere £10, and all-leather loafers for 50 percent off.

We are partial to buying our pyjamas in the Boden sale, but like these Russell and Bromley–ish loafers. They’re all leather (including the lining and the uppers), and they’re half price (£55, down from £110). We’re particularly pleased with the tassel detailing on the toe.

Also at Boden, a nicely schlubby merino-wool-mix jumper. It’s also on sale in camel.

In other clothing news, we spotted staff writer Chris Mandle adding this on-sale Levi’s jacket to his online basket. Some elements we like: The Sherpa lining extends to the tip of the collar, the slightly stonewashed denim, and the sleeves have a quilted lining (so your jumper won’t bunch up under the jacket). An added bonus, per the Levi’s website: Levi’s partners with the Better Cotton Initiative to improve cotton farming globally.

With an average of 4.8 stars, the Jaymag weighted blanket seems to impress almost everyone who has bought it. It came out on top when we searched for the best-rated weighted blankets on Amazon, and is now a little over 30 percent off.

If you’re on the hunt for hair care, then the Look Fantastic sale is a good place to start. We found this Oai duo for curly hair at 50 percent off.

We also spotted a Pureology duo for bleached blonde hair.

We noticed a low-key luggage sale at Amazon, including brands like SamsoniteKono, and more. The Bon Air Spinner has 3,300 ratings, 75 percent of which are five star, and is currently £64 (down from £109). One reviewer took the bag on an around-the-world trip, (including 11 flights) and writes that it’s “secure, reliable and takes the knocks on and off planes, and in and out of cars and trains.”

We also noticed a saving on the larger version of the shell suitcase, should you be going on a two-week trip.

At a lower discount, but still on sale, a classic Samsonite cabin bag.

Also on sale at Amazon are some expert-recommended children’s toys. This attractive wooden piano “is great for little fingers with the innovative feature of magic-touch technology — no buttons or keys needed,” according to Natasha Crookes, director of public affairs and communications at the British Toy & Hobby Association.

When we asked 12 design experts (and people with particularly good taste) for their recommendations for the best bedsheets, Kate Watson-Smyth, author of interiors bible Mad About the House, pointed us toward La Redoute. “They have a huge range of affordable bedding, the only downside being that there’s a lot to wade through,” she says. “But if you can spare the time, you will find some treasures — not to mention that there’s often a sale on.”

While Watson-Smyth is a fan of the Blanched Ruched duvet set, she also recommends the Monille sheets for “a touch of Hoxton Hotel chic.” Both are currently on sale at a 40 percent discount with the code SPRING. That means you can buy a duvet cover, pillowcase set, and bedsheet for £36 total — a pleasant refresh for your bedroom during this weird, stressful, Spring.

And, as we’re in the bedroom, we may as well suggest these languorous satin pyjamas, available in sizes 8-24.
