The Best Bunk Beds on Amazon, According to Hyperenthusiastic Reviewers

Here at the Strategist UK, we like to think of ourselves as crazy (in the good way) about the stuff we buy, but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed products and single out the most convincing ones. (You can learn more about our rating system and how we pick each item here.)

And while we’ve written about beds on our U.S. website before — including the best bed frames and the best mattresses — here, we’ve rounded up the best bunk beds, as praised by the most enthusiastic reviewers on Amazon.

Best-rated overall bunk bed

Happy Beds Atlantis Bunk Bed
£492
£492

With 525 reviews, the Atlantis solid-pine bunk bed came out on top as our best rated. 85 reviewers commented on how straightforward it was to put together, and an additional 36 people said it was easy to assemble, even if the suggested 45-minute assembly time was a bit of a stretch. The pine frame was considered good quality and stylish by 111 reviewers. Though it’s one of the more expensive models in our roundup, it’s the only model that comes with two spring mattresses. It also separates into two beds.

Best-rated (less expensive) bunk bed

£195

This bed by Comfy Living, which has 66 percent five-star reviews, is less than half the price of the Happy Beds bunk bed. Seventeen reviewers called it easy to assemble, including one customer who said the numbers on the non-painted ends of each piece make the process simple and straightforward. Another customer said that it took just under three hours to assemble using a screwdriver and an Allen key (though several people used a drill to speed up the process). The ladder can be positioned either to the left or right, and the beds can be taken apart and used as separates. Eight reviewers called the frame sturdy, and ten said they couldn’t believe the value (with one parent saying they thought it looked twice as expensive).

Best-rated bunk bed for kids

Happy Beds Wood and Metal Bunk Bed
£340
£340

This modern design got a lot of praise from parents for its shelving, which allowed little ones to keep trinkets and toys close by during the night. One mother wrote that her autistic son needed his juice and a snack nearby during a meltdown or period of anxiety. Another parent of children ages 2 and 4 said their kids loved having their favourite things by their side at night. All in all, 23 reviewers praised the shelving, which is minimalist and stylish, but the glow-in-the-dark steps also got a lot of positive feedback because they helped kids get out of bed in the night.

Best-rated bunk bed with double bed

Noa and Nani Kent Triple Bunk Bed
£240
£240

Noa Nani also do the best-rated bunk bed with a double bed. This model got 340 reviews in total, with 79 percent of them being five stars. Parents found the double bed a hit with bigger kids, as there’s room to stretch out and even sit up in bed to read. And one great-grandma wrote that it was a great option for when her three great-grandkids came to stay. It wasn’t just a hit with kids, though; one single parent said it’s great for her and her daughter’s bedroom, while one proud father weighing 17 stone said the double supported him easily. The ladder can be moved to either side of the bed for versatility, and six reviewers praised the storage under the double bed, too. [Editor’s note: This product is currently out of stock].

Best-rated triple bunk bed

Strictly Triple Pine Bunk Bed
£390

This triple bunk by Strictly has 362 reviews total, with 78 percent of them being five stars. What stood out most was how many parents recommended it for bigger kids — one reviewer wrote that their 15-year-old had no problem fitting in the top bunk, while another parent said she had three teens sleeping in it (though the middle bunk is reportedly the smallest). 36 reviewers said it was easy to put together — although it does require two people — thanks to the colour-coded pieces of wood. One parent described this as a “lifesaver” when assembling the individual pieces, of which there are “a surprising amount.”

Best-rated sturdy bunk bed

Strictly Heavy Duty Bunk Bed
£296

The best-rated bed for sturdiness came in the form of this bed from Strictly — 78 percent of reviews were five stars. Customers said it was more than capable of holding two adults (Strictly says it can hold 18 stone per bed). Another reviewer said that with various members of her family visiting often, these beds are a great option because they’re able to sleep adults comfortably. Thirty-seven reviews mentioned how much kids loved this bed — one parent said it gave her kids, ages 11 and 14, a bit more privacy thanks to the distance between the top and bottom bunks. Nine customers also wrote that the thick slats helped with noise reduction (one customer claims the slats are 50 percent thicker than their Ikea bed). The flat ladder rungs were also commended for making it more comfortable to get in and out.
