In order to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, face masks and coverings are now mandatory on public transport, in supermarkets, and in restaurants (a full list, including exemptions, is available here).
So, we were pleased to see this three-pack of cotton face masks from Gap on sale for just £10 (that’s a little over £3 a mask). These masks have three layers of cotton, and a filter pocket, as well as an adjustable nosepiece. There are plenty of colourways to choose from, but our eyes were drawn to this cheerful blue tie-dye.
It’s advisable to wash the mask before you wear it, and Dr. Diana Gall from online service Doctor 4 U, told the Strategist that it’s best to soak your mask in “hot, soapy water” after your wear it, “or put them in the washing machine as soon as you get home, and dry them on high heat.”
She also says to wash your hands before applying a new and clean face mask, as well as before removing it. “Just avoid touching the front of the mask, in case there are any germs there.”
