They fasten with a butterfly closure, and they’re made from brass and Lucite (which means they’re light enough to not inflict lobe pain). The product copy mentions they’re gold-plated, but we can’t verify if that extends to the posts (all of which is to say, if you have especially sensitive ears, you may need to investigate further).
