A water flosser might not seem particularly gift-worthy, but contributor Grace Holliday received hers as a gift from her husband last Christmas. Initially irked, she noticed that after a few months of use that the tea stains on her teeth were fading. She writes: “I’d estimate that the stains reduced by 50 percent in two months, and 75 percent after four months.”

Grace adds: “The Bestope uses a gravity ball, so you can floss upside down and at any angle you need. So, teething problems aside, the water flosser is practically idiot-proof. The Bestope model itself is pretty bulky; about twice the width of an electric toothbrush. It’s even wider around the base, but has to be in order to hold sufficient water.” It’s now 20 percent off — bringing the price to £28, down from £35.
