You can’t begin a spring clean without a good vacuum cleaner, and despite not being as status-y as a Dyson, the Henry hoover is a reliable piece of equipment (just this week we spied one in the corner of Downing Street’s new £2.6m “briefing room”). It’s currently 30 percent off, down to £100 from £140.
When we investigated the best vacuum cleaners on Amazon, the Henry came out as the best rated overalls (at the time, it had 3,489 reviews on Amazon). Nearly one in five (or 568) reviews specifically mentioned how good the suction was — one user said it even managed to accidentally swallow a pair of socks without her noticing. Another satisfied customer, the owner of of a German shepherd, said the hoover made light work of the dog’s thick hairs, and though it is noticeably bulkier than the cordless and upright models featured elsewhere, 49 users said the light frame made it easy to move around.
It also came recommended by five cleaning professionals when we asked what vacuum cleaners they used at work. Dolapo Oni, managing director of property development firm CityGate Homes, said it was “hard-wearing, durable, and worth the price point. I’ve used a lot of cheaper vacuums, but this one consistently delivers, so it’s the only one we use now.”
