Here at the Strategist UK, we like to think of ourselves as obsessive (in the best way) about the stuff we buy, but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed products and single out the most convincing ones. (You can learn more about our rating system and how we pick each item here.)

And while we’ve written about Halloween before — including the best Halloween costumes for dogs — here, we’ve rounded up the very best selection of Halloween costumes for babies, as praised by the most enthusiastic reviewers on Amazon.

Best-rated baby Halloween costume overall

Baby Shark Costume
£17
£17

Almost three-quarters of reviewers gave this Baby Shark costume five stars. The costume is available in the sizes “toddler” and “infant,” with the latter suitable for babies ages 12 to 18 months (according to several reviewers). Many customers said that the costume was not only cute but soft and well-crafted, meaning that their little ones were happy to wear it for hours on end. As the costume initially seemed quite bulky, one parent was worried that it may be restrictive, but they found that the costume actually had plenty of give. Many reviewers said that they had opted for this costume above others due to its built-in sound chip, which plays the “Baby Shark” song. However, at least five reviewers warned that the sound-chip battery had run out after just a few uses (although a couple of parents did say that they were secretly thrilled).

Best-rated (less-expensive) Halloween costume

Children’s Nurse Costume
£17
£17

Of the 1,002 reviews on this nurse’s costume, 80 percent are five stars, making it one of the highest-rated items on this list. It’s also the cheapest. One parent — a nurse — said that her friends were convinced that her baby was dressed up in real scrubs. Another reviewer said that the attention to detail in the costume made her granddaughter feel (and act) like a real nurse for hours on end. As the smallest available size to shop is 18–24 months, the costume is not suitable for younger babies.

And now for some micro-picks for every type of baby Halloween costume you might be looking for:

Best-rated dinosaur costume

Baby T-Rex Costume
£20
£20

With an average rating of 4.8 stars, this T. Rex costume is the highest-rated costume of all that we researched. Eighty-six percent of reviewers — that’s over 500 people — gave the costume five stars. Parents found the size range, from 6 months to 9-plus years, very inclusive. Fifteen reviewers called the suit amazing value for money; one said that the stuffed tail, claws, and snout and the embossed scales made the suit look far more expensive than it was. Another said that the costume lasted exceptionally well and machine-washed easily. This meant that her little one could wear it on Halloween (and afterward, to traipse around the shopping centre), and it still looked as good as new.

Best-rated Baby Yoda costume

Star Wars The Child Costume
£20
£20

Over 80 percent of customers gave this Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda) costume five stars. It is available in both infant (suitable for babies ages 6–12 months) and toddler (suitable for babies ages 1–2 years). Whilst a couple of reviewers said that the toddler size runs slightly long, several others thought it was handy, as their baby could grow into the costume. One reviewer said that the costume was a must-buy for parents eager to pass on their Star Wars obsession. Another urged people to buy it for the comedy value alone, saying that his daughter looked simply hilarious wearing it. Several customers said that the costume was both durable and warm, with one parent saying it had now become her son’s favourite outfit to snuggle in at nighttime. At least four reviewers said that they had tried other Baby Yoda costumes before and been disappointed, so they were thrilled to have finally found an option with ears that remain upright from wash to wash.

Best-rated pumpkin costume

Baby Pumpkin Costume
£26
£26

This classic Halloween-themed costume has an average rating of 4.6 stars, and is available in three ranges: 0–6 months, 6–12 months, and 12–24 months. Seventy-eight percent of reviewers gave the costume five stars, praising everything from the stain-resistant material to the warmth and comfort of the costume. One parent was a big fan of the vibrant colour of the costume — of all the costumes involved in her baby Halloween photo shoot, she said that this one stood out the most. However, customers from areas with a hotter climate did say that the costume could run a little warm, so it’s more suited to chillier scenarios, such as trick-or-treating.

Best-rated bunny costume

Baby Bunny Costume
£18
£18

Over 30 reviewers said this flannel costume was incredibly snuggly. In fact, five said that their little one never wanted to take it off. Parents found the sizing of the costume — available in sizes ranging from 0 to 36 months — to be incredibly accurate. Swaths of reviewers were all in agreement about two things in particular: that the costume was adorable, and it was cosy. Several reviewers said that the costume was luxuriously thick and warm, with one mum saying that she’d started to use it as a pram suit on frosty days.

Best-rated princess costume

Baby Snow White Costume
£17
£17

One reviewer was blown away by the durability of this costume; in addition to Halloween, she dressed her daughter in it on World Book Day, and again for a birthday party. Another mum liked that the costume’s hair bow was a headband — relieved that she wouldn’t have to fiddle about with a ribbon. Many customers said that the costume was so comfortable, their kids were happy to wear it all day long. One reviewer said that this meant her baby got compliments at every location she visited: from first thing at nursery to a family get-together later that night.

Best-rated monkey costume

Baby Monkey Costume
£25
£25

Over 25 reviewers called this outfit cute, and over 300 of them gave it five stars. One reviewer wrote that their 7-month-old daughter was particularly enchanted by the rattle inside the monkey’s stitched-in banana. Several customers mentioned that the sizing runs a little large, so there’s plenty of space for babies to wear a T-shirt underneath the costume. A couple of reviews mentioned that the velcro attaching the tail was a little flimsy, but that their baby looked so lovely it was only a small complaint.

Best-rated lion costume

Baby Lion Costume
£28
£28

This lion costume has proven very popular with reviewers; over 600 (76 percent) rated it five stars. Seven parents said that the detachable head and booties were a great idea, as their kids could get a chance to cool down without having to take the costume off entirely. Another reviewer said that removing the booties meant that her baby could still fit in the costume after a growth spurt. One mum rated the built-in mittens (also detachable), which had kept her daughter’s fingers from getting chilly during trick-or-treating. Six reviewers loved the other small touches, such as the stitched-in bow on the lion’s tail and the convenient poppers that allow for nappy-changing.

Best-rated bumblebee costume

Baby Bumble-Bee Costume
£29
£29

This vibrant bumblebee costume came highly recommended, with 76 percent of reviewers giving it five stars. Customers enjoyed the bright yellow of the suit, the plushness of the material, and the accurate height guide which helped them select the best size for their baby. One reviewer said that the little mesh wings on the suit’s back were a thoughtful touch, and another said that she was pleased to find the antennae still upright after various washes. Several reviewers said that they’d purchase again, as, in addition to looking cute, their baby was very comfortable in the costume.
